Eni surpassed Telecom Italia as this year’s winner in the H&H Webranking 2008 Italy Top80. UniCredit Group and Telecom Italia came in second and third place respectively. After large strides in performance over the last few years Italian companies are losing ground with respect to their European peers. Major changes to the survey include a new section dedicated to employer branding.
Milan, November 17th, 2008 – Eni took top honours this year, followed by UniCredit Group and Telecom Italia in the 7th annual edition of the H&H Webranking Italy Top80, carried out in collaboration with the Corriere della Sera.
Eni attained the top spot with a score of 85.25 points out of a possible 100. UniCredit scored 83.25 points and Telecom Italia was third with 80 points. Assicurazioni Generali and UBI Banca were the only two new entrants to the top ten. Banca Generali and UBI Banca were this year’s best improvers with score increases of 23.25 and 9.5 points respectively.
The Italian average fell 4.8 points in 2008 to 41.5 while the average for the 150 largest companies in Europe stayed the same. Although Italian companies made large advances in past years, this indicates that they are not keeping up with increasing market demands of corporate websites.
