The German economy newspaper Handelsblatt publishes the German H&H Webranking results today. Deutsche Post World Net wins the German ranking with a score of 84, for the second year in a row. Second place goes to Adidas Group and ThyssenKrupp, both with 77.5 points. Germany passes Finland as the highest scoring country in Europe.
“Deutsche Post World Net wins this year since they manage to produce a corporate website that is both extraordinary when it comes to technical features and rich with highly valued information. DPWN’s website is exceptional across the protocol with no apparent weakness. Features, such as large photo and video archives and online presentations and a full calendar with corporate events are some examples where Deutsche Post goes one step head in online communication”, says Marcus Eriksson, Head of H&H Webranking.
Germany best in class
There have been some changes among the top countries in this year’s survey. Improvements are mostly done by German and British companies. Germany for example manage to overtake the former leader Finland as the country with the highest average score.
Germany has always been a top contender in H&H Webranking and is mainly due to the overall good performance of almost all the companies in the German ranking. Impressively, only 11 German websites scored lower than 50 points. They show particular good result within technical features, for example 85% of the German companies have webcasts on their website. Germany has also the highest average score in the Employer Branding section.
Practical test
Every year, the H&H Webranking team submits an e-mail inquiry to all companies as a way of measuring how well and fast they answer questions. E-mails were sent to both press and IR departments of the companies included. The test reveals that Germany is best in class with the fastest average response time to our e-mail inquiry. A majority of the German companies answered within a couple of hours.
Best Climber
The title for best climber in Germany this year goes to the engine maker Tognum. The company has increased its score with a massive 22 points.
“Tognum who went public last year, have succeed in presenting a website that today hold much of the requested financial information, together with a good website calendar“, says Marcus Eriksson.
Other companies that improved their score significantly from last year is the gases and engineering giant Linde (+12.25), and the healthcare company Bayer (+11.75).
