On the 10th December, representatives from all over Europe gathered at Hallvarsson & Halvarsson's office in Stockholm offices for the second annual H&H Webranking Award Ceremony. The ceremony has become a key event for online strategists, awarding the best in online corporate communication. The top performing corporate websites from Sweden, The Nordic Region and Europe were awarded. The Best Climber and Best Social Media Presence was also recognized at the event.
The ranking continues to become larger and more comprehensive, expanding to include more than 800 companies. The main benchmarking list traditionally surveyed by H&H was the FT European 150, but in the 2009 edition we took one step further, using the larger FT European 500 list. See the entire top Europe 500 here.
Interesting and informative seminars, showcasing some of the cutting edge topics and themes of today’s online corporate communications trends, accompanied the award ceremony. Using his long experience in corporate communication, Gustav Ekelund, a senior consultant at H&H, gave some interesting insights into the most effective future corporate use of Social media - a hot topic in the communications community.
Andrew Thomas, publisher of the industry magazine Communicate, continued on the same theme but from a journalist's point of view. Highlighting several success stories, together with some of the failures and pitfalls, he had witnessed from his viewpoint as a journalist.
Thomas Backteman, head of corporate affairs for Swedbank, gave the audience a third interesting perspective – relating the recent journey of one of Sweden’s largest banks through the critical times.
The evening concluded with Marcus Eriksson, head of the H&H Webranking, and Staffan Lindgren, a co-founder of the survey, presenting trends, statistics from the ranking and future outlooks in online communication. Sponsors The event was hosted by Hallvarsson & Halvarsson with help from our sponsor, EPiServer.
