For the first time ever, corporate websites in the Gulf region were awarded for best corporate website according to H&H Webranking. The event took place at the prestigious Capital Club in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) on Wednesday 7 October 2009.

How H&H Webranking improves online corporate communication

The event started off with an introduction to what H&H Webranking is and how it works. The rankings started in Sweden in 1997 with the intention to improve companies’ use of the Internet as a communication channel. H&H Webranking has since then developed to cover more than 800 companies in Europe and the Gulf region. A clear trend is that the rankings truly help to improve the online corporate communication as the results in new countries tend to rise rapidly the second and third year.

Online corporate communication

Staffan Lindgren, Executive Partner at H&H, spoke about how online corporate communication can help companies to improve their business. This is done through an online communication strategy that covers the corporate website, search engines and how to handle and utilize communities and social media.

Awards ceremony

The awards ceremony was held in the evening at the Capital Club. Present at the event was representatives from the ranked companies. Nicholas Lunt, Managing Director of M: Communications – Gulf region spoke about why companies in the GCC should improve their communication with international stakeholders before announcing the winners.
